Since 1994, the BISON Fund has provided more than 41,000 scholarships to low-income children, enabling them to attend their preferred schools with tuition support. By offering partial scholarships, BISON enables parents to select the school that aligns best with their child's needs, promoting a dedication to educational opportunity.

BISON’s K-8 scholarships operate through a lottery system based on completed pre-application forms, with a submission deadline of March 15 each year. New families can click ‘Apply Now’ to enter the lottery, while applications submitted after the deadline will be placed on a waitlist. The program follows students from their initial entry until 8th grade, provided they remain enrolled and financially eligible. Currently, the maximum award for K-8 scholarships is $2,500, with a required minimum family contribution of $500 to reinforce families' commitment to private education. 

For the high school scholarships, awards are exclusively available to current BISON 8th graders through a lottery drawing, with a cap of $4,500 per student. Families receiving the annual $4,500 award can utilize it at any private high school in the WNY area, ensuring continuity in their child’s education.
